Spring in Lombardy

Spring has arrived ... all to discover the beauties of Lombardy!

As daylight lasts longer and weather becomes milder, nature is colored in bright hues. In short, spring has come to Lombardy!

This intense season is full of possibilities for whoever lives in the Region or is just visiting.

We would like to give you a few tips and hints for planning your free time or potential vacation.

You will have plenty of options since this is the Region that offers the most. Start with its natural parks for enjoying long hikes through the green, either by foot or bike. Lombardy counts with 4 thousand kilometers of bike lanes that go along the hills, rivers and lakes. The latter are an ideal destination for enjoying sunny days, perhaps you may visit boroughs facing these four great lakes, plus the chance of traversing by boat.

Numerous villas and botanic gardens open to the public during this season while gourmands can appreciate nature at several agrotourisms and educational farms for the whole family.

Are you passionate about sports?  Cyclotourism is one of the activities that you can try during spring in Lombardy. From golf to horseback riding and extreme sports for the more adventurous types.

If you would rather enjoy history and art, there are many castles scattered all over the land that make for fascinating landmarks. Plus the art cities, full of events and festivals, with Milan kicking off the start of event season with Fuorisalone and initiatives dedicated to food. What if it rains all of a sudden?

No problem, you can always visit countless museums and temporary exhibitions by artists from all over the world and any epoch in order to wait for the sun to return and once again enjoy spring in Lombardy.

The trail of memories and labours

This trail was dedicated to the memory of the inhabitants of Castione who, in the past generations, walked along this path carrying heavy pack baskets. The path linked the highest part of the town to the valley floor and allowed people to carry out farm works.
