Corso buenos aires

More than 1 km of shops along Milan's Fifth Avenue

Corso Buenos Aires is a decentralised shopping street close to the city centre. Easy to reach from the city centre on the underground metro, this district is strategically located near Milan's most important artistic and cultural attractions.

Corso Buenos Aires extends for more than 1,600 metres from Porta Venezia in Piazza Oberdan, and continues straight on Corso Venezia to Piazzale Loreto.

Corso Buenos Aires is considered one of the longest shopping streets in Europe. Its configuration is similar to American-style boulevards, such as Fifth Avenue in New York.

Numerous clubs, bars, cafes, restaurants, galleries, libraries and famous-name designer shops are located along Corso Buenos Aires, along with the Elfo PucciniTheatre.

The original name of this street was Corso Loreto, in honour of the Church of Santa Maria di Loreto that had been destroyed and converted into a housing complex. Later, it took the name of Corso Buenos Aires at the behest of the mayor at the time, Ettore Ponti , who wanted to give the city a more international image.
